It also contains a detailed product specification database of most common professional high end projectors from Barco, Christie digital, Projection Design, Panasonic & Sanyo are included.

The app can be used to calculate projector lens & distance at a given screen size, or calculate screen size from a given distance & lens for a particular projector. In addition basic edge blend calculations can be made.

Pros and cons of Projectionist app for iPhone and iPad

Projectionist app good for

I Just miss the Sony and Infocus projectors line. Or maybe is possible to add a new projector data in the same way we can do with screens?
This is a good app for calculating projection distances for higher end projectors. If you work for AVW-Telav, all of the high end projectors we use are in here.
Its very useful and flexible calculator for nearly all of projectors.
Good job, and I would like you to add the ability to add frequently used projectors to favorite list to quick find them. Thanks
Its a great app, but I didnt find Christie Roadster WU14K-M in the list.. It would be nice to have a feature to calculate lens offset (vertical and horizontal) along with the screen calculation. Please, add mm to units.

Some bad moments

App has alot of promise. Lots of info on prj and lenses. However,if you input a common sized screen(9x12,10.4x14,12x16,etc) it will not work. When this is fixed, I will re-review. Until then Im better off using a calculator
Useless app if your projector is not listed in their Database.
This app is for PROFESSIONAL protectionists, not the prosumer. All of the projectors are professional projectors you would normally see used in trade shows, concerts, and the like. IE: Christie, Barco, Panasonic, and a few others. It allows for edge blend calculations, distance calculations, lens calculations, lumix/nit calculations, etc, and will show you a miniature cad visualization of your setup. Its pretty awesome. For the most part, its automatic, and definitely for the professional Projectionist. I think the reviews are sub-par because most purchases have been from someone expecting a CONSUMER tool and nothing more advanced than a living room setup. Albeit, this app does that too; it just does a lot more. Thank you, programmer! Ill use this next time I blend!
There is a good range of pro projectors available here, but some glaring omissions, such as Sanyo, which is definitely a bread and butter brand for many pro/rentals. Would also like to see The calculators and lenses seem accurate and very useful. I would love to see the addition graphical, slider based, values for throw, size, etc other parameters, similar to the way projector centrals online calculators work. With a slider its easier to see where you need to be quickly. Also lock values and see what effect different lens choice will make Keep up,the good work!
I love the app, would suggest it to any video technician professional. It is a handy TOOL if you are not quick with math. Only thing I wish it had was an interactive projector diagram that you can see your screen size and projector, and move the projector back and forth like on the Christie website .
Sanyo is listed but not NEC? Good app but too few manufacturers
